CHLOE

I haven’t stayed in a place this nice since I was a kid, when my parents were paying and had a lot more money. I gawk in the doorway as Dylan flips on the lights in our room—our suite, actually—at the Perry Lane Hotel. It’s only Savannah’s most elite hotel, so… nothing to feel weird about.

I walk from the living room to the bedroom, which has a massive king bed and the dreamiest looking down comforter. I imagine sleeping here will be like sleeping on a cloud. If clouds were solid, of course, instead of primarily water vapor and ice crystal.

See, this is why I’m not a poet.

“Like it?” Dylan’s put our bags away and sneaked up behind me.

My whole body tingles as he wraps his arms around my waist and presses me against his chest. He’s so massive, over a foot taller than I am, but I don’t mind. I’d like to climb him like a tall, sexy tree.

“I think it’s… pretty good.” I bite my lip to keep from grinning.

“Pretty good?” he growls, then bends down and presses his lips to the side of my neck.

My cool façade shatters as I squeak with surprise. I wish I’d sighed instead of squeaked, but then I wouldn’t be me.

“Know what I’ve been thinking about all day?” He nibbles my ear, and I think his voice and hands and lips are all it’ll take to make me come. This is what heaven must feel like.

“What?” I whisper.

“I wonder how that honey would taste if I licked it from your body.”

I could swoon if I’m not careful, and we’re not in some Regency romance novel. He’d probably call a doctor. So instead, I turn around and stand on my toes, winding my arms around his neck. I’m pressed against the muscular expanse of his body again, and his wild blue eyes seem to blaze as he looks at me. I kiss his lips, savoring how soft and full they are. Set in such a chiseled, angular-jawed face, those lips make him look sensual and still devastatingly masculine.

I’ve never been so intoxicated by anyone. Every kiss I share with Dylan makes me want more. I don’t know how I’ll ever get enough.

I don’t want to think about the day he’ll disappear. “Live in the moment” is the new Chloe Davis motto.

“You know,” I say, breathless as he starts to sink to his knees and kiss down my body. “I’ve never raided a hotel mini bar before.”

“Hmm?” He stops, looking surprised. “Never?”

“The last time I stayed in a nice hotel was with my parents when I was fifteen. Back then, all I could have were the gummy bears.”

“You definitely have a sweet tooth.” That looks like it gives him wicked ideas.

Well, he does want to lick honey off my naked body. And I do want to get better at the sex. Like, all of the sex. Even the weird sex.

“Sugar is one of the best things on earth.” I flutter my eyelashes, which makes Dylan laugh.
