Tortillas

Tortillas are the traditional bread of Northern Mexico and have been included in the pH Diet for their versatility. Either make your own or buy good quality tortillas, checking food labels for a product containing the least number of E numbers and salt that you can find. They are perfect for a satisfying breakfast, lunch or snack, stuffed with a selection of alkaline-forming salad foods. Check the recipe section for a few ideas. Drizzle savory wraps with Essential Balance and a tablespoon of ‘3&6 Mix’ for balance, before wrapping up the tortilla. You can also wrap up fruit and yoghurt for a breakfast, desert, or snack – adding ‘3&6 Mix’ for crunch and balance. Traditionally tortillas are made with wheat flour, so avoid if you are wheat sensitive.
