Your Holiness

Our vulnerability and mildness are spiritual strengths, although the ego views them as weaknesses. The three kings bowed before the Christ child; the Christ child didn’t bow before them. There is no power in the world that’s greater than the power of love.

The mystic Jesus is a reminder of this. His name is a signal to the subconscious mind that you are more than the world has told you that you are. To say you were made in the image of God means you are an idea in His mind, and ideas do not leave their source. Your bond is inseparable. Every problem we have in life stems from just that fact: we have forgotten who we are. Forgetting who we are, we forget where we came from. Forgetting who we are, we forget we are one with each other. Forgetting who we are, we forget why we are here.

Jesus helps us remember. In remembering who we are, we remember that our love, not our fear, is our true identity. Our love is not our weakness; it is the strength of God within us. A more compassionate, more regenerative, more nurturing consciousness is in fact the only way to a survivable future for the human race.

The Christ is a facet of your psyche, the melding of your heart and mind. It is holy because it is whole. There is no power that can stand against it. There is nothing your holiness cannot do.

This section from A Course in Miracles describes the power of our holiness:

Your holiness reverses all the laws of the world. It is beyond every restriction of time, space, distance, and limits of any kind. Your holiness is totally unlimited in its power because it establishes you as a Son of God, at one with the Mind of his Creator.

Through your holiness the power of God is made manifest. Through your holiness the power of God is made available. And there is nothing the power of God cannot do. Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems. It can do so in connection with yourself and with anyone else. It is equal in its power to help anyone because it is equal in its power to save anyone.

If you are holy, so is everything God created. You are holy because all things He created are holy. And all things He created are holy because you are.* (WB-58)

The thinking of God is 180 degrees away from the thinking of the world. One of the places where our thinking is particularly upside-down is regarding arrogance and humility. It isn’t arrogant to say the power of God is within you; what would be arrogant is to think it’s not. Wouldn’t that mean you were a creation of something other than Him? You are powerful because of a power that is in you, but not of you. To claim that power, and seek to use it well, is not arrogant but humble.

The mystic Jesus puts our perceptions in right alignment.
