My diet
I only eat once or twice a day on average. I prefer to avoid spiking my insulin levels frequently because I don't like the consequent fluctuations in blood sugar levels. I feel that my optimal energy levels are best achieved with fasting for the most part of my day, and I prefer to enjoy 1 or 2 big meals instead of snacking throughout the day.
I also stick to certain food groups that I have found to be the essentials for overall health and hair health. I reward myself with eating whatever I want once every 1 or 2 weeks (i.e. a cheat day); I'll do this typically on a Friday or Saturday as this is when it is most convenient for a social life. I prefer not to obsess about breaking my diet, and I will break my diet if the occasion calls for it, then making up for it by either exercising more or delaying the next cheat day. Regardless, 90% of my time is spent either fasted or eating from the food groups below:
