Q: My ribbed sweater cuffs are almost always too large. How can I remedy this?
A: Patterns often instruct you to work on too many stitches for cuffs. To obtain a proper fit for your sleeve cuffs, use the following method.
a. Take the completed front or back of your sweater, and wrap the bottom ribbing loosely around your wrist (right side up) from the outer edge.
b. Place a large pin vertically along the stitch where the outer edge meets the inner edge.
c. Pin the first stitch from the outer edge along the length of the pinned stitch. Make sure you can slide your hand in and out easily. If not, move the main pin a stitch or two over, and test again. (Figure D)
