•The man is not free because he cannot do what he wants.

RQ: Are you only free when you can do what you want?

•He is free in his mind but not physically.

•He is not free because if he got bored with the things he has in the prison he can’t go and do something else.

RQ: If he never got bored with the things he has in the prison and was happy there his whole life, would that mean he was free or not? (See the Teaching Strategy box at the end of this session: If the idea.)
