BUSTING THE GENDER DUALITY MYTH

Many Satanists use the goat-headed image of Baphomet as their sacred emblem. In Eli Levy’s influential drawing of Baphomet, he is seen with both male and female characteristics, integrating both in one sacred hermaphroditic being. This is symbolic of the non-dualistic nature of Satanism: that is, we reject the dichotomy of God vs. Satan and instead work with something completely different: our own divinity.

The narrowly dualistic mindset encouraged by Christianity hampers growth, freedom and progress wherever it has taken hold. We need to question every duality, and I believe one of the most important to take on is the duality of gender and the idea that one is superior to the other. I believe if we observe ourselves and the world, we will find that inside we are not so different, despite owning different genitals. Baphomet contains both male and female, yin and yang. Like him, we are integrated beings, not defined by or reduced to our gender.

WORKING TOGETHER

It was to the Church’s benefit, as well as the political powers, to keep the sexes separate and at war with each other so they wouldn’t have a moment of clarity and realize that if they worked together, they could stand up to their overlords.

I believe both men and women will have to work together to change ingrained systems of discrimination, persecution and rape that have come out of centuries of sexism and abuse. I believe that it Is to the advantage of everyone in a society to end discrimination of any kind. How much farther would we be along the curve of scientific progress or technology if more women felt comfortable going into math and science, for instance? The solution to surviving global warming could be locked in the mind of a poor black girl in Africa.

Any woman who submits herself to any of the Big Three Monotheisms is, in my view, either insane, idiotic, or has no choice, forced into it by her family or culture. In the monotheistic worldview, women are supposedly the root of all evil. Men are taught to avoid their natural sexual attraction to women and view it as the Devil’s temptation or black sorcery.

No wonder our society is so screwed up when it comes to treating men and women differently. We all need to set aside the bullshit and just treat each other like human beings. Satanism doesn’t stipulate that one sex or the other is divine; each of us as individuals, regardless of our physical attributes, are our own god. That goes for both women and men.

DESTROYING THE STEREOTYPES WITH SCIENCE

Science has recently proven beyond a doubt that, apart from the obvious physical ones (height, shoulder to hip ratio, genitals), there is actually very little difference between the sexes.

I’ve felt this non-gendered consciousness strongly all my life. I’ve gone through life, as one friend puts it, “as a man,” despite my busty female form. I have never been conscious of being female, except when someone is reacting to my feminine sexuality.
