Tips for eating more vegetables

Make vegetables the foundation of your evening meal, especially those high in water.

Try different types of vegetables regularly.

Vary how you serve your vegetables: raw, steamed, microwaved, sautéed, grilled or baked.

Have five to seven meals a week (preferably lunch and dinner) where you combine lean meat and extra vegetables with little or no starchy foods such as pasta, bread, rice or potatoes. Salads, soups and stir-fries are ideal.

Look for recipes that include vegetables as a snack or side dish.
