So practise these scales, they’re both exactly the same just this one you're working you way down from top to bottom instead of bottom to top.

Now it’s time to briefly get into why this is a G minor pentatonic scale.

The reason is because it is in the shape of a minor pentatonic scale but, most importantly, it starts on the G root note. So, remember, in chapter 1 I told you that each time you hold down a fret it changes the note you're playing. Well, it just so happens that, if you were to hold down the 3rd fret of the Low E string (the thickest string), that note would no longer be E but it would be G, hence why that is a G minor pentatonic scale.

Now, if you were to keep the pattern the same as the G minor scale but moved it across 2 frets it would become an A minor pentatonic scale. As the note A is 2 notes away from G, in between those notes is, of course, G# and then you get A.
