Flash (Buster Crabbe) battles the Forest People.

When the Forest People guards return to the death cell to bring food to the prisoners, Flash, Barin, Zarkov and Happy ambush them, and escape with Dale. Led by Prince Barin, they leave the huge tree and walk to the temple of Kalu, where Flash leaves Dale and Happy in the nearby forest. Approaching the temple, Flash climbs a nearby tree, planning to swing into the shrine from above and take the black sapphire.

Dale and Happy, undercover in the forest, see a Martian stratosled land nearby, and watch as Azura's soldiers emerge and confer with Captain Rama, who tells them that the Earth people have escaped. Leaving Dale, Happy runs to inform Flash. Meanwhile, Flash battles a tree man in the branches above the temple, and falls from the tree to the ground as he is attacked by the Forest People. A tree man aims a heat ray at Flash, and as he lies helpless on the ground, Flash is slowly burned alive...
