This is clumsy. It is obvious that the two know each other. Two people who know each other will eat together or sleep together without resorting to names.

Long speeches can be deadly on screen. One passage of dialogue running more than five or six lines should be studied with great care for trimming, cutting, or breaking up. Few actors, actresses, writers, or directors have the extraordinary skill to carry a long speech. Don't take star quality into account in your writing. The superstar you want or expect to be reciting your lines may not be interested or available.
