Irrespective of which model you ultimately decide on, though, the key is to realize that your research questions and goals should drive the methodology you ultimately choose, rather than the other way around. Just like you chose your theoretical framework depending on whether you wanted to tell a story or develop a best practice, your choice of methodology should be informed by the key outcomes you hope to achieve. Put otherwise, what type of data—numbers or stories or both—will best answer your research questions?
