CHAPTER SEVEN

The six children gathered at Robbie’s house the following evening after school to discuss the events that had transpired the previous evening. “You know that Zelda asked us to contact Iridaan in our dreams last night, well, for the first time, I was not able to do so. Did any of you manage to contact and update her?”

In a rush of psychic telepathy they all said that they were not able to make the link, “That is really odd, isn’t it?” volunteered Aliya. They spoke about the anomaly for some time before deciding that there was little that they could do about it.

“It was not an urgent contact, anyway”, continued Omar, “It was just an update, so I don’t think that we should worry, we have quite a crisis at hand to deal with”.

Picking up on Omar’s thoughts, Susan stated, “Fallon was so brave”, his energies were nearly depleted when he sent the telepathic message to me asking for help from The Heart Stone, then he still continued to fight”.

“Yes”, agreed Robbie, “I saw him when Patrick brought him into the farmhouse, he was unconscious by then but I heard Patrick tell of his bravery. That is typically an elf though; once they give their word to do something they will do it until the death if they have to. They have a strong honour code which few ever break, their word is truly their bond”.

“Things don’t look good at the moment”, said Omar reflectively, “other than destroying the modified grain seeds, we are probably in a worse position now because the dark elves know that they have to fight the woodland folk. They might even seek them out and kill them”.

“No that will not happen”, interspersed Robbie firmly, “If they go to the woodlands here they will not be able detect our woodland folk as their vibrations blend so seamlessly with their surroundings. They work in perfect harmony with the nature about them. The only time they are in danger is if they are out of their natural environment as Fallon was in the laboratory. Then their individual vibration is obvious”.

“That’s a relief”, said Omar glad that his concerns had been allayed.

“Zelda has put a spell of invisibility around the farmhouse and provided a talisman that will do the same for Patrick at his house”, Robbie told the others reassuringly. “But what really worries me is what will happen once the Government find out that the genetic seeds have been sabotaged”.

They did not have to wait long for the answer to that question; the news headlines that evening proclaimed that animal rights and anti-GMO protestors had teamed up to destroy the genetic seed prototype in the laboratory.

“That is such a lie!” protested Kerry as the others all chorused their agreement.

“You poor mortals are so locked into the way of lying it is a wonder that you are able to know the truth from a lie”, said Robbie sadly.

“Yes I know”, chipped in Aliya, but, surely the Government does
