“See!” I said. “I think the Zupan relics are literally in the tip of this iceberg! It’s ice cold, get it?”

Jeeves was at the controls and had the plane on a nice, steady course, so it was easy for him to lean over for a closer look at the picture.

“But that’s so small,” he said. “Are you saying that this is the FIB’s hideout? You think their whole crew is there? Floating inside this iceberg? With Josh Brigand?”

Julianne looked annoyed. “Jeeves, icebergs keep most of their mass underwater!”

She turned to me for a reaction.

“Sato,” I said, “if this fake iceberg is still in the water somewhere, wouldn’t we have seen it when we were looking for boats?”

Julianne’s eyes narrowed. “We might have if we hadn’t flown to Death Valley for no good rea—”

“On second thought,” I said, “let’s investigate. You might be onto something!”

“Good,” Julianne said, as we passed through a dense cloudbank. “Because without the iceberg, our hopes of finding Josh Brigand are sunk.”
