21 Now that the bodice is fitting well, it is time to drape in the sleeve, which is the process of fitting and pinning the sleeve cap to the bodice armhole. Here, I will show you the draping process with a sleeve that is proportionate to the client’s arm. There are other examples of typical sleeve problems you will encounter, shown here. First, slip the sleeve onto the client’s arm and pin the top of the sleeve cap to the bodice, matching the center of the sleeve to the shoulder seam.

22 Pin the underarm of the sleeve to the bodice underarm. Have the client slightly raise her arm, match the underarm seam of the sleeve to the underarm seam of the bodice, and weave the pin through the fabrics. You can also have the client take off the bodice, pin the sleeve to the bodice in a few places, and put the bodice back on.
