Audio Subsection 5: The Complete Set of Rules

Finally, you will be given all the rules and must use them all to answer the question. These rules are just a compilation of the previous subsection’s rules. Thankfully, these are the current rules used on the DLAB test. Can you imagine having to remember all of these while listening for variations in a sentence? Make sure to memorize these rules, but also when you take the test, make sure these are still the same rules. The test could change.

Rules:

All adjectives must come after their corresponding noun.

Both the adjective and its corresponding noun must end with the same vowel sound.

There are no such things as articles and they cannot be used.

The possessor must come after the possession.

That which is being possessed must end with either a “u” sound (like mute) or an “a” sound (like hay).

The possessor must end with a short “i” sound (like cheat).

All subjects must have an “aa” sound (like hall”) in the middle of the word.

All objects must end with a long “a” sound (like hay).

All verbs must have a “ya” sound in the beginning and cannot end with an “s.”
