In 1869, a giant was dug up in the USA. At first, doctors were fooled. They said it was a fossil of a giant man.

It was a fake, but lots of people still came to see it. The man who made the giant made a lot of money.

In 1898, The British Museum bought this crystal skull.

They believed it was found in Mexico hundreds of years ago. But tests on the skull, in 2004, showed that it was made using modern tools.

Museums in France and America were also sold similar fake skulls.

In 2000, a man claimed that he had found the mummy of an ancient princess. He had found it in a stone coffin in Pakistan.

The mummy was said to be over 2,600 years old. The man wanted to sell the mummy for $20 million.

But before he was able to sell it, it was proved that the mummy was a fake.
