Supplies needed

Craft sticks

Dental floss

Cotton swabs

Whittling knives

Scissors

Cutting board

Steps

Lay out the stick you would like to use for your project on a flat surface, and with your knife, make a cut of 2 1/16 to 1/8 inch slits side by side on one side of the stick. Let these cuts be near one end of the stick as shown below

Repeat this for both sides of the same end of the stick. After doing this, clean out the marks you have made so you will be left with a hole on the stick's two sides. Repeat the entire process for the other end of the stick. At the end of this step, you should have two slits across from each other – on the two sides of the stick you are using.
