Setting Priorities

As for the third part, a change in lifestyle and habits will require you to get your priorities straight. Before you can start, you have to know what you want.

Do you want to be happy?

Do you want to save money?

Do you want a life without excess baggage?

Think about it carefully and reflect on the things that matter. Know what you can compromise on and how far you are willing to go to achieve your goal.

Commitment is a part of this lifestyle change, and you cannot go from start to finish without follow-ups in between. There is a big difference between wanting and actually doing. Most people are able to do both, but others get stuck in the wanting stage. They think too far ahead and they don’t concentrate on dealing with the things that come first. That makes it very hard to decide what to do about whatever situation you’re in at the moment.

First, you have to decide, and then go ahead and do it. No compromises. Priorities will always come into play for this part, because you need to understand what you have to change first and which parts of your old lifestyle you can live with for a while.

Getting it right the first time is a great thought, but it does not always happen. Many people run into trouble because they don’t understand or appreciate what they are doing and they don’t have the conviction to sustain it. But this is all part of the process of changing your lifestyle.
