“At one point during development, we thought about playing with the colors in the world around Mirabel, to reflect how her point of view is influenced by her emotions. In the third act of that version of the movie, Mirabel would stop narrating and the ending would be from Abuela’s point of view, where everything would look more realistic and photographic.
