Expand Collaboration for Strategic Decision Making

Expand engagement to build the capacity for strategic decision making across the organization.

Engaged employees and stakeholders are much more likely to be agile employees. Many agile organizations are transcending the dualism of centralization and decentralization by including as many employees and stakeholders (customers, suppliers, community members, and others in the ecosystem) in the strategic decision-making processes. This may seem unwieldy, however, it can be accomplished creatively and expediently. I work regularly with leaders throughout organizations to develop strategies that engage the shared values, passion, and talent of the organizational Relational Web while cocreating strategic vision and priorities owned by leaders at all levels of the organization. It is human nature to resist what we didn’t have a hand in creating and to embrace that which we co-created. Regular opportunities to engage in such cycles of reflection and action not only strengthen the Relational Web, they expand the entire organization’s capacity to innovate and respond effectively to emerging issues and opportunities.
