Day 18

Even though Zombies had hands similar to those of Humans and I guess like those of Villagers, they were having a rough time trying to open the cage my friends were trapped in.

“Are we going to stay trapped here forever, Rocky?”

Mikey wasn’t handling the entire situation with calmness we needed for this – I didn’t blame him, though – I don’t know what I would do if I was trapped for days.

Robo on the other hand, looked pretty angry – he didn’t say a word ever since they were rescued.

Well, they weren’t completely rescued…yet. We still have to figure out a way to unlock that prison box. Why would someone even bother to make something like this? If I learned something, I’ve learned that Humans are pretty strange creatures.

All Zombies - at least two dozen of them – were now trying to figure out a way to help Robo and Mike. No one could crack the secret on how to open the cage – I’ve tried as well and Robo and Mike tried more than just a couple of times.

And with all Humans running away I guess Zombies had nothing better to do at that moment.

“We’ve tried to break and unlock it so we could get out. We would do it every single night while the Humans were asleep, but we couldn’t do it…”

“All right, here’s the thing…”, one of the Zombies started and it didn’t sound like he was going to say something we would like to hear – bottom line: it would be nice if he’d started with: “Hey, I’ve got some good news…”

Now, that would be a lie…

“You know how Zombies barge into Villages and areas where Humans settle and then we go around their houses and try to get in…?”

“No, but please go on.”

“Well, it would be easier to enter and scare them if we knew how to open the doors…but we don’t. The same goes for this thing…”

“So, you can’t open the cage???”

“No, we can’t open the cage. Sorry, little guy…”

“But how do you get in then?”

“Oh, we just break the doors.”

“Break them?”

Mike sounded frightened.

Break, huh? That sounds painful…pretty much painful.

“Well, when you say “break it” does it means that you kind of break the whole thing?”

“Oh, yeah. There’s rumbling, shaking and breaking…and stuff like that. Pretty tense.”

Gulp!

I looked at Robo and Mike to see what they had to say about. It seemed, though, that this would be their only choice.

“Do we have another choice?”

That was the first thing I heard Robo say in a long time – he sounded like he didn’t care whether he would stay in there, trapped forever or be set free by allowing the Zombies to perform their “rumbling and shaking and breaking and stuff”.

He still looked pretty angry, though.

“Umm, I don’t think you have.” one of the Zombies said, “Unless of course, you want to ask the Human to unlock this thing…but I don’t think he would do it.”

Well, of course he wouldn’t.

“Break it then.” Robo said coldly.

The Zombies were right – there were really rumbling and shaking and breaking and stuff.
