Research all the different ways people use to call good fortune and luck to them. It’s a fascinating study. Do you have any special charms or rituals to encourage luck to shine down in your life?

Good fortune often follows our directed focus. If we set the odds in our favor, fortune has an easier line to follow. If we buck the odds, then the path is tortuous. But remember, bucking the odds doesn’t mean simply trying to achieve something difficult. If we have real talent for singing, acting or writing, then the odds are not so bad should we aspire to a stage, recording, or publishing career. If we want to climb Mt. Everest and are out of shape, have asthma and are afraid of heights, then we aren’t doing much to help Lady Luck enter our lives.

Think about the times that the Universe has burped and landed a spot of good luck in your lap. Make a list of all the truly unexpected, wonderful things that have happened to you and keep it near for times when it seems like nothing is going right. Use it to remind yourself that yes, good things do happen in your life.

There exists a state of mind that I like to call surfing on the crest of the Universe. When we get into this state, it is easier to keep a streak of good fortune running. Hard to attain, harder yet to keep in motion, the consciousness required to achieve this states asks us to focus on every wonderful thing that happens to us through the days and put all of the resulting excitement and joy towards our goals. I find this beneficial when I’m near to achieving a major goal and I need that last rush of energy to push it through—that last ounce of creative force required to manifest it. Usually I will achieve this state about two or three times a year. I can keep the energy running for about one or two weeks and during those brief periods, I find that amazing things happen in my life.

Generosity seems to attract good fortune. Try helping out where you can, out of your own desire to see others prosper. You might be surprised by the rewards, both tangible and intangible, that you receive in return.
