In today’s world, if you are a CEO, CRO, CFO, COO, business entrepreneur, investor, government official, or in other leadership positions that can implement change in an organization, it is crucial to maintain a diligent overview and understanding of risk, threat, and vulnerability. Many articles and blog posts attempt to define these three terms individually; however, it is the interactive relationship of all three of these components that create the initial evaluation and recommended action plan for risk management. For individuals in overseeing the risk management of an organization, the more this process can be rationalized in a way that is similar to the approach of a professional high-level risk expert, the better the individual’s understanding and interpretation of the results of the risk audits as well as their ability to implement their findings in a way most suited to the company or institution. 63
