Hezeleo called Mama Wes, who had left the video shoot to run an errand in Beaumont. “Now, C’s alright,” he began. “Don’t get excited.”

Mama Wes froze, bracing for bad news.

“He’s on his way to the hospital to get checked out, but it’s gonna be okay, Mama.”

Mama Wes rushed to the hospital, where doctors concluded that Chad had a concussion. He was released after being treated for minor injuries. Even though he was shaken up, he planned to still make the drive to Houston for the Brooke Valentine video, but Mama Wes was adamantly opposed to the idea. “Y’know, you gotta stay awake [to deal with the concussion],” she reminded him.

“Well, that’ll be a good way for me to stay awake,” he joked.

Mama Wes glared at him. “C, I will kill ya,” she said.
