Chapter 10

Week 2 - The Wedding Morning

Beck

I could really get used to this, I thought. I never really liked to close my eyes and sleep with women. But with Hayden I could wake up next to her for the rest of my life. I couldn't keep my hands off her in the night. It wasn't even sexual. She seemed to gravitate toward me in that little bed. I think she liked me touching her.

She didn't stir as I rolled toward her forcing Rebel to leave the in-between-us spot he'd claimed when I'd gone to take a leak. She snuggled, nestling and molding her body clothed in an oversize t-shirt against the side of mine. She was warm and inviting. She even smelled good after a night of no air conditioning.

"What time do we need to be there today?" She rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

"Not until five thirty." I nuzzled her neck. I'd never kissed a girl as much as I did her. Last night we'd practically burned that truck up at the drive-in kissing.

She stretched and purred then moaned, not in a good way. "Oww, oww, oww.".

"What?" I was pretty sure what I'd been doing wasn't worthy of an oww.

"I've got a cramp in my calf." She rolled over me and off the bed. Then began hopping around the cabin.

"Now where is that bunny costume?" I mused.

She glared and put her foot down. She bent over and began massaging her calf. I was really enjoying the view.

Cramp abated she went over to the cabinet and began foraging. "Where are my Ding Dongs?"

"You ate the last one yesterday."

"Shoot!"

I sat up in bed. "Want to have a breakfast picnic. I can get us some donuts and coffee at the convenience store. You can throw on that bikini that drives me wild. I'll show you how I got my thrills before I met you."

♥

Her bikini wasn't holding on her butt but I appreciated the firm cheek I got to see from thirty feet below.

I heard her say, "Jeez, he calls this getting the blood pumping. I call this a death wish."

She did a running start, grabbed the old rope swing and swung off the ledge, then back to land.

"Oh, shit," I muttered nervously as she held on to the rope as it neared a tree. Thinking she really did have a death wish, I watched her pump her legs and swing out over the ledge and let go. She flailed her arms like a baby bird forced from the nest, hit water and sank. Panicked, I started to dive down when she surfaced with a crazy scream that echoed off the rock walls.

"Are you insane?" My voice shook with the fear she had caused.

She laughed. "That was awesome. I mean, yeah, the letting go wasn't so pretty but wow! Just wow!"

I pulled her into my arms needing to hold her so my heart could calm down. "You are banished from the rope swing!"

She kept laughing.

"I mean it. You just took ten years off our long life together.
