The easiest way to remove serger stitches is to trim away the serged edge with scissors or a rotary cutter—or to re-serge the edge to the left of the existing stitches. If you don’t have sufficient seam allowance left to cut away the stitches, pull them out with a seam ripper or your fingers. Here’s how to undo basic serger stitches.

removing two-thread overedge stitches: Gently pull the needle and looper threads together, and the stitches will pull right out.

removing cover stitches: Clip the last few stitches formed by the needle threads from the right side of the fabric. Turn the fabric over and gently pull the looper thread to unravel the entire stitch.
