1. Use a transfer needle to withdraw shots from the bottle. Disconnect the syringe, leaving the transfer needle in place, and attach a single-use needle for the shot.

2. Inject air into the bottle to facilitate withdrawing each shot.

3. Eject a tiny bit of fluid from the needle to remove any air bubbles that may have formed.

Intramuscular shots can be given into the heavy muscles of the neck to avoid damaging prime cuts of meat in slaughter goats.

Subcutaneous shots can be given in the armpit.

9. If It’s remotely dirty, swab the injection site with alcohol before administering the injection (prepackaged alcohol swabs are easy to use). never inject anything into damp, mud- or manure-encrusted skin.

10. To give a subcutaneous injection, pinch a tent of skin and slide the needle into it parallel to the goat’s body. take care not to push the needle through the tented skin and out the opposite side or to prick the muscle mass below it. slowly depress the plunger, withdraw the needle, and rub the injection site to help distribute the drug or vaccine.
