Fun Animal Cards
BY JENI HENNAH
You Will Need:
Pearlescent card
Glue stick
Sticky foam pads
1. Cut out the template pieces needed for your animal.
For Archie: Cut out one body in pink, two wings in dark blue, one beak in black, two eyes in white and one moon in gold.
For Phoebe: Cut out one body in orange, two fins in purple, one tail in purple, one mouth in red and one eye in white.
2. Cut out any additional shapes needed for your animal. For Archie: Cut four 6mm (1â4in) wide strips in pink, two pupils in black using a standard hole punch and one tree branch approximately 2cm (3â4in) wide in brown.
For Phoebe: Cut four 6mm (1â4in) wide strips in red, one pupil in black and three bubbles in white using a standard hole punch, and some seaweed in green.
3. Stick all the shapes required for each animal together.
For Archie: Glue two pink strips to each wing and trim the edges with scissors. Glue the two wings to each side of the body. Stick on the eyes and then beak, then add the pupils to the eyes, slightly off centre to create character.
For Phoebe: Glue four red strips to the body and trim the edges with scissors. Attach the mouth and tail behind the body (you can use tape to hold this in place if necessary). Glue the two fins to the top and middle of the body. Stick on the eyes and add the pupil.
4 Cut a rectangle of pearlescent card measuring 10cm à 20cm (37â8in à 77â8in) and fold in half â use black for Archie the owl and blue for Phoebe the fish.
5. Stick the background shapes onto the card â the tree branch for Archie and seaweed for Phoebe. Attach your animal to the card using sticky foam pads. Stick down the other decorative shapes â moon for Archie and bubbles for Phoebe.
