‘Scappaticci had his elbow on his shoulder and his chin on the top of Lynch’s head. Scappaticci was very aggressive and foul-mouthed. Scappaticci said he did not like talking to him the way he was talking. He said that if he did not admit to being a tout he would get a jab up the arse and wake up in south Armagh. He would then talk to him the way he wanted to talk to him. He said he would wake upside down in a cattle shed. It did not matter if he screamed, as no one would be around to hear his screaming. Scappaticci asked him how his wife was feeling; he knew she had had a miscarriage before Christmas. He asked him if his wife was in a fit of depression and he replied “yes”. Scappaticci asked how she would feel having to come down to identify him with no face, because he [Scappaticci] would make sure he had no face. Scappaticci tapped him a few times on the back of the head, and said that he would get it right there, “like that cunt Fenton”. He said his [Fenton’s] family could not identify him; he could only be identified by his jewellery. Scappaticci said he [Lynch] would end up the same way.
