Imagine you have been put in charge of your school and are responsible for academics, school rules, and making students and parents happy. What changes would you make? You might think that shortening the day to two hours, allowing cell phones in class, and eliminating hard classes is a great start toward gaining popularity in your new position. But have you considered the consequences? If you went to school for only two hours or got rid of hard classes, then you would have a hard time passing the SAT and other standardized tests. Cell phones would be a distraction for students and teachers. Your popularity wouldn’t last long if people started failing their classes and couldn’t get into college.
