METHOD

1. Wrap the string once around the pot, about a half inch below the top edge. Measure the amount of string that was needed to wrap around the pot. You now know the circumference of your pot.

2. Measure out a length of string that is one-third the circumference and use it to mark where to drill. Repeat this two times until you have marked three equally spaced holes (it’s important that the holes are equidistant from one another so that the basket hangs level).

3. Drill the three holes and attach the chain to the pot. If your container doesn’t already have a drainage hole, drill a fourth hole in the bottom of the container.

4. Partially fill the pot with soil. Place the geranium in the center of the pot, and a ground morning glory on either side. Fill in around the plants with potting soil.
