6 Flip it over. This is the front side.

7 Cut the tape along the edge of the fabric.

8 Peel off the liner of the tape.

9 Stick the fabric onto the fan. You can also apply a piece of white fabric on the back side.

10 Apply some white glue on 7 mm ribbon or fabric strip.

11 Wrap the ribbon or fabric strip along the edge of the fan. Note that it is evenly placed on both sides. Apply glue as needed when wrapping.

12 A rigid fan is complete.

2. The Dawn in Spring

Sleeping in spring I missed the dawn;

Birds were chanting aloud their songs.

This is a famous classical Chinese poem expressing the love of spring. Referring to the beautiful scenery of the poem and applying the art of flower arrangement, this art can be set as a decorative picture. The yellow and white flowers together with the green plantain leaves deliver the scent of spring, while the red fruits hiding under the plantain leaves enhance the scene and energy of season. In this project, blind stitch is also introduced. Please refer to the part of making vase on page 73.
