What should you do with the object?
Once the object has been painted and the words have been applied, you have a finished piece that can be a great gift for someone. You could also display it in your house. Even better, make a series of these custom objects and give them away. Just be sure to take photos!
Here’s a little step-by-step of how we achieve this look on a random object.
Working really small
ITSY-BITSY
Drawing on mini-frames is a personal favorite of mine, and something I’ve been doing for years. You can buy these at most art supply stores, and they are a simple and great gift to give to friends. I’m always surprised and delighted to see how much a little handmade gift like this can be such a great way to make a friend or a loved one smile. When I lived in San Francisco, I would visit my friends in New York a lot, and I began giving little frames as gifts. On one four-day trip, I gave out about twenty of them to my friends.
I would customize each one to make it unique for that person. Whether it was an inside joke between us, something they personally loved, something that represents a gift, or just simply writing their name on the frame, it was relatively easy and rewarding way to make your work a gift for a loved one. You should try it as well!
