5. Slide on the D-ring and fold the tab in half. Pin the tab just above the piping on the left side of the bag front, with the D-ring facing inward. Fig. E
6. Fold each of the short sides of the 1½˝ × 2½˝ zipper tabs in ¼˝ and press. Fold the tabs in half.
7. Place one of the tabs over one end of the zipper and stitch across. Be sure that the zipper pull is closed; then trim the zipper to 8½˝. Place the remaining tab over the cut end and stitch. Be sure that the zipper plus the tabs measures at least, if not exactly, 9¼˝. Fig. F
