1) Cut Styrofoam to interior frame size.

2) Remove Styrofoam from frame and lay out letters in alphabetical order with consistent space between letters.

3) Lightly press each letter into the Styrofoam. For thicker, uneven pieces, carefully cut spaces into the Styrofoam.

4) Remove letters and spray-paint Styrofoam.

5) Glue pieces to Styrofoam, and place front to back in frame.

THE MERMAID AND THE PIRATE

Light passes through this little work of art just like a stained glass window, and the subtle shades within each color group add to the imperfect beauty that defines sea glass.

The frame’s wide black border contrasts with a craft that is often restricted to a beach theme. Of course Anna Atticks’s window would be beautiful in a summer cottage overlooking the sea, but it is equally impressive in a Danish modern environment on the snowiest winter day.

Sea glass windows should be made with Plexiglass. It is stronger, lighter, and safer than glass, and it can be easily cut to size at a hardware store.
