Setting your goals
Now we are going to set two to three goals for each “domain of success” we created on Day 1. We are also going to set some measures, where we can, so you will know when you have achieved a given goal.
As a reminder, sometimes measures can be results-oriented (“I will weigh 190 pounds by June 30th,” or “I will increase my personal sales by 15 percent”), and sometimes measures can be process-oriented (“I will meet my financial advisor once in January and once in July to review,” or “I will meditate five times a week for 15 minutes.”)
Here is an example of what the goal-setting template looks like when completed. I have only included three domains of success. You will see that in health/well-being, I have a target but also (more importantly) weekly goals for getting me there. The rightmost column will be used when you review your progress on a monthly basis (or so), either to nudge yourself back on track or to celebrate as goals are reached:
