The Race Issue

Individuals who bring race into every topic and try to pit one segment of society against another (the divide-and-conquer strategy) need to open their minds and move away from the ideology that not having everyone attend college is race related. The reason is straightforward; the reality of not attending college immediately after graduating from high school applies to individuals of every race. Many entrepreneurs, trade persons, self-made individuals, and high school graduates who have decided to enter the workforce instead of attending college have gone on to achieve a successful and rewarding life, and that success applies to members of every race. Every day there are stories in newspapers or broadcast on television programs that highlight individuals who have accomplished amazing things in life without immediately entering college after high school. College is only one path to possibly achieving satisfaction in life. For many individuals, attending college immediately after high school was a disastrous decision that led to financial ruin and emotional trauma. By the way, the reality that not everyone needs to go to college after graduating from high school does not imply that an individual will not attend college later in life when he or she is better prepared emotionally, intellectually, and financially for the rigors of the higher-education learning environment.
