Algae growth

One thing that poses to be a stubborn problem especially during the hot summer time is the growth of algae in water tanks. The need for fresh and algae free water for you cows cannot be overemphasized hence the need for a way to dealing with this menace.

Cleaning! Cleaning!! And cleaning!!! Is always the first step to dealing with any disease related problems. Regular removal of water is perhaps the most effective method in this regards and even though it is such a difficult task, is necessary as long standing water provides an easy environment for algae and some other bacteria to infiltrate the tanks.

There are a couple of chemical products in the market that kills algae effectively. Chlorine and copper are two of such chemicals; however you much be aware of the ration of the chemicals against water before you use such chemicals.
