jewelry wire
wire cutter
scissors
tinsel garland
hot-glue gun
bamboo skewers
1. Cut a 5-inch piece of jewelry wire.
2. Using the Finger Wrap method described on this page, wrap the garland around your fingers 2 to 3 times. (More wraps make poufier poms.)
3. Using the jewelry wire as your tying material, twist the wire around the center of the garland to cinch it.
4. Cut all the loops and trim the tinsel ends.
5. Dab hot glue on the bamboo skewer at least 0.25 inch from the end.
6. Gently press the center of the pom onto the skewer, making sure it reaches the midpoint of the pom and doesnât fall off. Repeat steps 1â6 to make multiple toppers.
7. Cut the skewers at varying heights with a wire cutter and insert them into your cake.
