Cutting Instructions
From each of 10 print fabrics:
•Cut 1 strip 9½˝ × width of fabric; subcut into 3 squares 9½˝ × 9½˝ or, if you are using 10˝ × 10˝ squares, trim the 30 squares to 9½˝ × 9½˝.
From background fabric:
•Cut 11 strips 3½˝ × width of fabric; subcut into 120 squares 3½˝ × 3½˝ and mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of each square.
•Cut 6 strips 2½˝ × width of fabric; subcut into 24 rectangles 2½˝ × 9½˝.
•Cut 7 strips 2½˝ × width of fabric; trim the selvages, sew end to end, press the seams open, and cut 5 strips 2½˝ × 53½˝.
From binding fabric:
•Cut 7 strips 2¼˝ × width of fabric and continue as instructed in Binding (page 32).
From backing fabric:
•Cut 2 pieces 62˝ × width of fabric. Sew together the pieces to form a horizontal seam in the backing.
