In this painting, I wanted to play up the gracefulness of the model by using strong curves in the composition.

COMMON MISTAKES WHEN PAINTING THE FIGURE

Sloppy, inaccurate drawing

Using a brush that is too small

Using too little paint

Making the eyes too high or too close together

Making the hands and feet too small

Making the pose too symmetrical and stiff

Painting the figure with too many sharp edges

Painting inventory (eyes, nose, mouth) and not color shapes

Working too close, not stepping back to view your work

Making skin and shadows too dark and opaque
