14 Now gently bend your circle shape in half slightly and cut a smaller circle shape out of the center, creating a large ring. Continue bending and cutting your shapes until you have a large assortment of shapes and sizes, both circular and ringed.

15 Play around with your shapes, placing them on your substrate and moving them around until you find a configuration that feels right to you. Remember to work in odd numbers and to stack and layer your shapes to create visually pleasing marks.

16 Once you are happy with your layout, begin to adhere the shapes to your page using a gel medium. To create a smooth surface with the collage pieces, add gel medium to both the substrate and the cut shapes before placing them. Use a scraper or key card to smooth out all of the air bubbles.
