Soil
Unlike other herbs, most orchid flowers have roots that reach out into the climate for moisture and support. They donât burrow into the earth to extract nutrients from the soil!
As tropical herbs, they culture attached to trees or other herbs. Terrestrial orchids do culture in soil, however they may still have external roots.
The important thing to remember is that normal potting soil may choke climatey roots.
