The rational soul (which is the matter of the divine image) in the Jew is not comparable to the rational soul in the Gentile . . . for the rational soul of the Jew is in a manner different than the rational soul in the human species . . . for Israel is called “sons of God,” as they have a divine soul, and thus their rational soul is also in another manner than the rational soul in the human species.
