As they approached, I waved to them.

“Kitty, Mary and Jane! Charlotte, Emma!”

They dismounted their horses and ran up to the barrier.

“You came to visit me!” I smiled, “How I missed you all.”

“Lizzy,” Mary said, “We wanted to come earlier, but the forest wouldn't let us through.”

“It's cursed.”

“Yes,” Princess Marianne said, coming forward, “That was where I came in.”

“Princess Marianne,” I said, surprised as I curtsied, “It is a pleasant honor and surprise to see you here, your highness.”

“The pleasure is all mine,” she said, “for I have long wanted to see the soldier who had saved me from the curse of Sorceress Fan, and is the reason behind why I woke up.”

“You know that it was me? Yet I thought that—”

From behind me, I felt a shadow loom and I knew, by the look on the company's faces, that the beast was standing behind me.

“Oh, company, this is Prince Darcy of Pemberley castle,” I began, “And Your Highness, these are my three sisters, Jane, Kitty and Mary. Then my comrades Emma Watson and Charlotte Lucas and this is Princess Marianne.”

“Prince Darcy,” Princess Marianne said, coming forward. “I believe that you remember me.”

“I do, hello Marianne.”

“You know each other?” I asked Darcy.

“Yes, for her cousin, Margaret, is the Margaret who lives here.”

“How is that possible?”

“It's a long story,” Princess Marianne said, “Yet that is not what I come for now. For I can assume, other than being under a curse, Margaret is quite safe.”

“Safer here than in Norland, apparently.”

“Yes, but that doesn't stop that we are parted. Either way, I come for another relative of mine, and I come to ask your lady here to help me.”

“What?” Prince Darcy asked.

“What?” I echoed.

“And she is not going anywhere!” Darcy commanded.

“I'm coming inside,” Princess Marianne said.

“No!” We all cried.

“Princess Marianne,” I warned, “if you come through, then you shall be forced to take my place and then I am free to leave, yet you will have to stay.”

“I know.”

Princess Marianne moved forward, Darcy rushed to her to push her back, yet she sidestepped him, entered through the barrier, grabbed my hand, and then pulled me back out of the barrier. We passed back out of it and were now on the outside of the castle while the beast looked at us from within, in shock.

I could not believe it! The barrier was broken, and I was able to come and go.

I looked between Prince Darcy and Princess Marianne, yet she looked calm and unsurprised.

“Now,” Princess Marianne smirked knowingly, “Will you all hear out my reasons for coming?”
