If you are asked to repeat yourself or speak up, chances are that you are just not used to speaking louder. If that’s the case, try this simple 1-2-3-4-5 exercise. Say 1 at your softest volume and as you count to 5, raise your voice so that when you reach 5, you are the loudest you can be. Most people’s volume should fall between the 21⁄2 and 31⁄2 level.
2. Pay attention to your diction. We make assumptions about people based on how clearly they pronounce and how correctly they use words. If your diction is poor, people often make negative assumptions.
