Ladies might get a ‘Can I help you, baby?’ when exploring this large shop, which specializes mostly in secondhand instruments. It’s the place to go for a nice used horn. There’s an entire room of brass and woodwinds, all priced fairly, and to find it, you must weave through a maze of guitars, bass amps, and lots of other music stuff.

A dense emporium of used 45s, with some very rare, collectible and expensive disks featuring all the blues, R&B and soul stars of the past. The used LPs have mostly given way to CDs, and there's an uneven selection available. Russell, a former DJ and concert promoter who opened the store in 1968, died in 2014 at age 94, but the store rocks on.
