Cutting diagram 2

• From the remaining background fabric (about 59″), cut 1 strip 14½″ × length of fabric. Label this piece E back; label the remaining fabric F back to be used for the quilt back.

BINDING FABRIC:

• Cut 6 strips 2½″ × width of fabric.

Making the Blocks

All seam allowances are ¼″, and all seams are pressed open unless otherwise noted.

Block Units

1. Sew a 1″ sashing strip to each side of each of the 5½″ print and solid fabric strips, making a total of 30 strip sets.

2. Divide the strip sets into 6 groups, each including 4 of the same color solid and 1 print. Assign each group a number, 1 through 6.

3. Use the triangle template to cut triangular block units from the strip sets. Keep the bottom of the template lined up with the outside edge of the sashing fabric, and alternate sides to get as many triangles as you can from each strip set. The block unit cutting guide (below) tells you how many units to cut from the strip sets in each of the 6 groups.
