It was dark by the time I reached the riverbank under the bridge. The gently sloping bank was made of old, cracked cobblestones. The open area I was looking for was directly under the bridge. I sat down. I was alone. The water was about six feet away from me. I immediately felt a refreshing, cool breeze bathe me; it was coming up the river from the south. I realized that the river formed a wind tunnel, for it was the only wide open area in the airtight Calcutta-Howrah metropolis. It had been a long time since I had experienced the pleasure of such a wind. It must have been blowing thirty miles per hour. As I let go to its soothing effect, I drifted into a deep relaxation.
